The aim of the Developing Youth Voices Work Plan is fostering positive intercultural exchanges by focusing on how young people use social media and the impact these platforms have on them. With the COVID-19 crisis came a rise in usage of social media platforms, whether they were being used as a means to communicate or to get informed. However, every crisis also comes with a rise of discrimination against minorities, and the global pandemic was no different, as these same social media platforms witnessed an increase in nationalistic voices, discrimination and racism. As social platforms play a fundamental role in young people’s everyday life, our goal is to provide opportunities for our network to become engaged on this topic.
